About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on engineer with experience building live and on-demand video workflows for sports. You’ll play a key role in helping launch a new direct-to-consumer streaming platform focused on a fast-growing professional sports league.

You’ll collaborate with product and operations to design, test, and support end-to-end streaming solutions—including encoding, live ingest, OVP integrations, entitlement systems, and player-side delivery. Your mission: to ensure high reliability and broadcast-quality standards across mobile, web, and CTV platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Design and maintain scalable live and VOD pipelines (encoding, packaging, CDN)
• Implement and optimize protocols (SRT, RTMP, HLS, DASH, CMAF)
• Coordinate with venue teams and production partners to ensure stable live ingest
• Integrate with OVPs like JW Player, Vimeo, or Bitmovin
• Troubleshoot playback issues across mobile, web, and connected TV devices
• Support entitlement, tokenization, and subscription access systems
• Define and enforce technical specs and system monitoring standards
• Evaluate solutions for SSAI, DRM, and monetization

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience with end-to-end (“glass to glass”) streaming workflows
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience with SVOD, HLS, and OVP integrations
• Proficiency with ingesting, managing, and distributing live/VOD content across platforms (Apple TV, Fire Stick, mobile apps)
• Strong understanding of codecs (H.264, H.265, AV1), ABR ladders, and video player behavior
• Hands-on experience with tools like OBS, Wirecast, vMix, ffmpeg, Wowza, etc.
• Familiarity with OVPs, CDNs, and entitlement/authentication systems
• Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Calm and fast problem-solver—especially under live conditions

About the Role

We’re launching something new and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to help shape it. As our first editorial hire, you’ll be responsible for setting the tone, creating daily content, sharing highlights, writing articles and helping grow our digital audience from the ground up.

This is a hands-on role with room to evolve. You’ll work closely with the GM to build a compelling voice and community around the sport.

What You’ll Do

• Publish 6–10 short-form articles daily (match recaps, player profiles, analysis, etc.)
• Clip key moments from live matches for social and SVOD platforms
• Manage content using CMS tools like WordPress or Webflow
• Contribute to our voice across social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)
• Use data (GA4, CMS dashboards, social tools) to inform what we cover and how
• Conduct interviews—on-camera, via Zoom, or in person—and produce highlights and summaries
• Use basic editing tools (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, etc.) for short videos and social clips
• Help create and package highlight content with support from our creative team

What We’re Looking For

• A background in sports journalism, communications, or a related field
• Min 2 years of experience news journalism ideally working in the digital space
• A portfolio showing experience in editorial, video, or social content
• Familiarity with CMS tools (WordPress, Webflow) and digital publishing best practices
• Understanding of SEO, HTML/CSS basics, and digital storytelling
• Experience with video editing and tools in Adobe Creative Suite
• Comfortable with interviews and speaking on camera
• Ability to work independently and juggle multiple projects in a fast-moving environment
• A genuine interest in emerging sports and storytelling.
