Major League Table Tennis was founded in 2023 by software entrepreneur and table tennis enthusiast, Flint Lane. While table tennis boasts millions of fans worldwide, the U.S. had never seen a professional league – until now. Flint set out to change that, launching Major League Table Tennis and bringing the concept to reality in just six months. The inaugural season kicked off in Daytona Beach on September 15, 2023, shortly after the league’s national debut on ESPN’s Ocho Day (September 8, 2023). MLTT returned to Ocho Day in 2024, this time featured on August 2, further cementing its place in the national sports conversation.
Now looking ahead to its third season, MLTT has already drawn significant attention and investment. NBA Hall of Famer Manu Ginobili holds an ownership stake in the Florida Crocs franchise, while world top-10 table tennis star Dima Ovtcharov is a co-owner of the Princeton Revolution. With momentum continuing to build, the league is quickly establishing itself as a bold new chapter in American professional sports.
Major League Table Tennis showcases the best players in America, with world-class talent representing over 40 countries. The league features an innovative team-based format and now includes 10 dynamic teams: the Bay Area Blasters, Chicago Wind, Carolina Gold Rush, Florida Crocs, Princeton Revolution, Portland Paddlers, Seattle Spinners, Texas Smash, and new additions for Season 3 – the New York Slice and Atlanta Blazers.

Each team match features 21 total points up for grabs.
Teams earn one point for every individual game won across the match.
The standard match format includes five total games: two singles, one doubles, followed by two more singles.
It all culminates in the Golden Game – a high-stakes, race-to-21 finale where each member of the 5-player team rotates in every four points. The winning team claims an additional 6 points, often swinging the match and turning the tide in dramatic fashion.
