MLTT Adds New York, Atlanta Expansion Teams

PRINCETON, N.J. — Major League Table Tennis (MLTT), the first professional table tennis league in the United States, today announced the addition of two new teams, the New York Slice and the Atlanta Blazers. These teams will join MLTT’s eight original teams for Season 3, beginning in September 2025.

The expansion to 10 teams reflects MLTT’s rapid growth and rising popularity and follows the league’s recent landmark national media deal with CBS Sports. MLTT also closed a $5.5 million financing round in October 2024, further positioning the league for sustained expansion.

New York and Atlanta enter at a time of record-breaking growth for MLTT, with Season 2 viewership on YouTube increasing by over 500% and attendance reaching record highs across multiple markets.

New York Slice: A Team Built for the City of Dreams

Representing the energy and grit of New York sports, the New York Slice is set to make an immediate impact in MLTT. The team will be led by head coach Adam Hugh, a six-time U.S. Men’s National Team member who competed in five World Championships and one World Team Cup. Hugh also won silver at the 2014 North American Cup and has 20 years of experience as a high-performance director and coach at his club.

“New York is home to the most passionate sports fans in the world — a city built on resilience and the relentless pursuit of excellence,” said Adam Hugh. “As we bring MLTT to the metropolitan area, I’m excited to help build a winning culture and make every match an electrifying experience for our fans.”

Atlanta Blazers: Igniting the Future of Table Tennis in the Southeast

Expanding into one of the country’s most vibrant sports markets, the Atlanta Blazers will bring fast-paced MLTT action to a region with a rapidly growing table tennis community. The team will be led by head coach Suzi Battison, an accomplished player who competed in China before becoming head coach at the National Stadium in New Jersey in 2013. Since then, she has trained multiple players who have gone on to represent the U.S. National Team at various levels.

“Atlanta is an elite sports city, and we’re excited to introduce fans to the speed, skill, and excitement of MLTT,” said Suzi Battison. “Our team will bring a strong work ethic and a competitive spirit that reflects the passion of Atlanta’s sports culture.”

MLTT’s Continued Growth & Future Outlook

MLTT Commissioner Flint Lane emphasized the significance of this expansion:

“Expanding to 10 teams is a major milestone for MLTT, and we couldn’t be more pleased to welcome the New York Slice and Atlanta Blazers. These cities are known for their passionate sports cultures, and with strong ownership and coaching, we believe both teams will be ready to compete at the highest level.”

MLTT continues to experience explosive growth, with record-breaking attendance, soaring digital engagement, and increased national exposure.
