MLTT Announces Sale of New York Slice

PRINCETON, N.J., – Major League Table Tennis (MLTT), the first professional table tennis league in the United States, today announced the sale of the New York Slice, one of the league’s newest expansion teams, to Shweta & Sachin Gangrade.

Sachin is a New Jersey-based pharma executive and lifelong racquet sports enthusiast. The Gangrade family brings decades of business leadership experience and a passion for racquet sports to MLTT, as they take the reins of a team preparing for its official debut this September. The New York Slice filled its inaugural roster during the 2025 MLTT Draft and will represent the New York metropolitan area—one of the most iconic sports markets in the world.

“We’re excited to welcome Shweta & Sachin to the MLTT ownership group,” said Flint Lane, Founder and Commissioner of Major League Table Tennis. “They bring energy, experience, and deep business expertise, which makes them a great fit to help launch the New York Slice in one of the world’s most competitive and passionate markets.”

“This is a dream opportunity,” said Shweta. “As lifelong sports fans, we are thrilled to help build something from the ground up in a city like New York. The Slice are ready to compete, and we can’t wait to support the team’s growth and help bring table tennis to new fans across the region,” said Sachin.

The team will be led by head coach Adam Hugh, a six-time U.S. Men’s National Team member and former North American Cup medalist with two decades of coaching experience. The Slice’s inaugural roster features a mix of American standouts and international stars, including two-time Olympic medalist Koki Niwa (Japan), Amir Hodaei (Iran), Haocheng Wang (China), and Jishan Liang (USA).

The sale of the New York Slice comes as MLTT prepares for its most competitive season yet. Season 3 begins this September with 10 teams. The league also recently announced a national media partnership with CBS Sports and continues to experience record-breaking momentum, including a fivefold increase in YouTube viewership, double the number of paid ticket sales, and a sold-out Championship Match in Philadelphia earlier this month.
